I remember having huge crushes on a few guys, where we should have been highly compatible on paper, and yet... the chemistry or what-have-you just wasn't there from their side. It seemed impossible that it wasn't, but that was very much the case.

There was no less pain from knowing that than if there had been a long, full relationship that then broke up. :(
